What causes bad dog behavior? You may have just added a new addition to your family and all of a sudden out of no where your dog seems to be displaying bad dog behavior? Well unfortunately we never know how a dog is going to act when they get to the house; however there are some things that you can do to put a stop to the bad dog behavior.

You have to be willing to show your pet that you are the dominant one in the household. A dog will only become aggressive and begin showing bad dog behavior when the owner refuses to show them that they are the alpha dog. This does not mean that you have to be mean or abusive in anyway. As a matter of fact you should never hit your dog; because you do not want your pet to be afraid of you. Click Here

A dog is a quick to learn new tricks and commands you just have to be willing to be consistent with your training. If your dog is showing signs of aggressive behavior and they do not seem to be listening to you; it is time to begin disciplining them.

You have to find out what is causing your dogs distraction and what throws him out of control. Once you have that figured out it is time to begin training him so that he will not display that unwanted behavior.

If your dog seems to go crazy when he sees the letter carrier going down the road; then it is time to practice the sit/stay command. You have to realize that it is going to take some time; however it can be mastered with the right discipline.

You are going to need a friend or family member to assist you with the training. They are going to have to act like they are the letter carrier and come to your front door.

Have them come to the front door and ring the door bell. After all if this is what triggers the bad dog behavior; you have to fix this.

Get your canine friend to sit even though they really do not want too. Do not open the front door until they are sitting down and obeying your commands.

Eventually you will notice that your pet will disregard the front door and will stop that unwanted behavior no matter how many times the door bell rings.
