Behavior Dog Leash Training

Nylon webbing leash, a common style

Behavior dog leash training prevents some pet owners from taking the time to walk their pets. They refuse to learn proper leash training because they do not want to put up with the behavior dog leash training.

It is common for people to say that they do not walk their dogs because they do not want to be pulled down the street. The truth is that if you are facing this type of behavior when you are walking your pet; it is because you are not taking control of your dog.

Dogs love to be social and get out and walk with their owners. This is a great way to bond with each other. However if you are experiencing behavior least training and are avoiding the walk because of the way that your pet acts; it is time to begin disciplining your pet so that you both will begin enjoying the walk again.

For instance lets say that your dog becomes over excited when she sees you pull out the leash and collar from the closet. They have learned that this means they are going for a walk and they become overly excited like a child at a candy store.

You want to get them to calm down before you put the leash on. If you fail to get them to calm down they may become uncontrollable when they get outdoors. Get them to sit down before you put the leash on; eventually as you continue doing this; they will understand that they have to sit down before you will put the leash on them.

Never take a dog that is uncontrollable outside to try to socialize with other pets and people. This can trigger aggressive behavior and then you will have a difficult time trying to take control of your pet. Chances are when you do get your pet back indoors you will avoid taking them for a walk again; because you do not want to deal with that type of behavior.

Regardless of what people tend to think about their family pet; they are smart enough to learn between wanted and unwanted behaviors and it is up to you as the owner to show them how you want them to act. To learn more about dog training Click Here
