Crate Training A Puppy
I personally tend to believe that crate training a puppy is the simplest form of training that their can be. However many people tend to see it as a form of punishment and refuse to put their newest member of the family in a crate.
However as long as you purchase the perfect crate and do not use it as a form of punishment then your dog will grow to love the crate. When I got my Pug I used crate training a puppy as a way to discipline and potty train my pet. At first I was like everyone else who saw it as a way of punishment; however as she learned that it was her place she loved it.
After all it had her bed in it and every time I told her “lets go to bed” she would instantly get into her crate. When I left home I would put her in the crate as well. As soon as I got home I would open up the door and she would come out. So now that I know that crate training a puppy is the easiest way to train your dog; I would definitely be willing to train any dog that I get in the future using these methods.
This usually works best when they are puppies; however if you are dealing with an older dog who is tearing up your home while you are gone; then you may want to consider using a crate to help you deal with your problems.
However if your puppy does something that they are not supposed to; you never want to send them to their crate. If you do this they will begin to associate the crate with being bad. After a while they will not want to get into their crate because they will think that they are being punished.
Your puppy will learn to love their kennel if you learn how to properly crate train them from the beginning. You will also notice that it will be a great way to potty train them so that they will not make a mess in your home. Click Here
