Dog leash training can be a time that your dog will display aggressive behavior; especially if they are older and have never been walked on a leash before. You may also notice that you do may show signs of aggression when you are dog leash training them and their are other pets around.

Your first instinct as the owner is to take them back into the home so that they can be by themselves and you will not have to worry about putting up with this type of behavior. However the truth is that your pet needs to socialize with other animals and that is what may be causing their aggression is because they do not know how to be social.

Believe it or not dog leash training is a great way to begin bonding with your pet. Many people unfortunately do not take the time to walk their dog and then they wonder why their pets tear up their home or cause other problems. Besides being on the leash will show them that you are the dominant one and it will also teach them obedience.

The type of leash that you use for your dog leash training will vary depending on the breed of dog. You would not use a small little nylon leash for a Husky as you would for a Poodle. You would definitely want to get one that can control your dog in case he begins showing signs of aggression.

Once your pet becomes familiar with the training; they will stop acting up and they will begin to look forward to your walks together and you both will enjoy them.

However when you begin walking your dog; it is important that they do not take control of the walk. You may notice that your dog may attempt to pull you. If this happens then tug on the leash and get them to walk beside you; however you never want to yell at them otherwise they will not enjoy the walks and they will even begin to dread them.
