Stop Digging And Chewing Problems

Although many people would not consider digging and chewing problems aggressive behavior; however it can be a form of aggressive behavior. No one wants to admit that their new best friend may have issues; after all it is much easier to close our eyes and hope that it will all go away.

The truth is that you have to stop digging and chewing problems before it becomes a nuisance and they begin destroying your home. So you as the owner must learn how to take the corrective action to solve this problem.

It usually begins with puppies; they love to chew your socks, shoes, and anything else that you leave on the ground and they can sink their teeth on. While at first it may be funny and cute to look down and see your little bundle of joy chewing on your items. After a while when you begin noticing the damage that they are causing; it will not be so funny.

Not to mention if you do not stop it while they are puppies; then they will continue doing this type of behavior as they become older.

Ways To Stop Digging And Chewing Problems:

1. Walks: Chances are if you are experiencing digging and chewing problems; then your puppy or dog is bored. When you get home from work or at the end of the day; it is important that you take your new puppy or dog for a walk. Many people use excuses as “I am tired” or several other reasons to believe that your dog will be fine.

If you were locked up everyday and never got to see the outside world; then you would be bored as well. Your dog is just trying to show you that he needs some attention and exercise.

2. Pick Up: Never leave anything on the ground that your dog can reach. This should stop all the chewing problems and if you notice your dog chewing on something then you have to be willing to discipline them at that point. Eventually they will begin to understand that they are not allowed to chew on items in your home.
