Toy Aggressive Dogs With Other Dogs

Toy aggressive dogs with other dogs is never a good sign. Most dogs who have been properly socialized will understand that other dogs touching their toys is okay. However there are some instances where a dog can act like a spoiled child and does not want anyone touching their toys whether it is another dog or a person.

If you notice that you dog is displaying toy aggressive behavior with other dogs; then it is important that you correct the issue. After all if we neglect to tell our pets that it is not good to act a certain way; then guess what they are going to continue to act in that way.

I highly recommend that you take the toy away until they understand that it is okay to share with the other dogs. When my pet was displaying toy aggressive with other dogs; I had to literally give the toy to the other dog and show her that it was okay to share. After a couple of times of doing this she finally realized that it was okay to share.

However if both of the dogs are showing aggression then I would take the toy away from both of them. Remember toys are a privilege and if they do not act in the right behavior the last thing that you want to do is allow them to play with a toy.

One of the best ways to show your dog how to share with other dogs is to begin to socialize them with other animals. Dogs by nature are social animals and when we neglect to socialize them the right way; then they can become aggressive towards other dogs and people. I have personally found that one of the best ways to socialize my pet is to take them to a local park or a “dog” park if your town has one.

This will give them the opportunity to socialize with all kinds of other dogs and people as well. Believe it or not this can easily stop the toy aggressive behavior.
