With all the types of aggression that your pet can be displaying it is important to know a little bit about them so that you can detect which type your pet is suffering from. While I know that most people are not concerned with with type of aggression their pet has; their main concern is to learn how to get rid of this behavior.

Unfortunately this is an aggression that most pet owners have to deal with whether we are ready to learn how to deal with it or not. However luckily there are several resources available to any pet owner that will help them deal with their pets behavioral problems.

Types Of Aggression

Predator Aggression: The basic instinct of the dog displaying this type of behavior is because they are trying to find food to survive. Of course most house pets will not be considered to have this type of aggression; you will most likely find this behavior displayed with stray pets who do not have a home to go to.

Protective Aggression: This behavior is common among dogs that become aggressive over their home or their toys or anything else that they consider their own. This type of behavior can occur when they feel that they have to protect something and if they feel that it is going to be taken then they become aggressive and may even cause harm.

Fear Aggression: Dogs may nature are meant to protect themselves. If they feel that they are in harm or are afraid of other dogs or people then they go into a protective mode. While they do not mean to harm when they are displaying this type of behavior. Their main goal is to protect themselves and they will do whatever it takes to do just that.
